man it was tempting. He hopped the fence between two fields and walked right past me. I shot one similar to him last year, and he just wasn't what I wanted, plus he has a lot of potential to grow huge one day. Maybe next year...

Dang catman are you becoming a trophy hunter? :o j/k nice buck and hope he sticks around and makes it live another year.
yea I feel like it sometimes. That is 3 decent two year olds I passed this year that I would have shot last year. I will know when I see the buck I want and only hope I can make a good shot instead of carrying my bow when I should have had the rifle, lol

You'll know it when you see the one as there will be no doubt. Good luck!

Yep, the first few years I hunted, any of them were it. Now, if I have to think about it, I don't shoot.

It is crazy how you just "know"

Good footage Cat!!! I agree he looks like a 2.5 yo with a ton of potential...could you tell if he broke off his brow tines or were they just little nubs.??

Good deal! It's bucks like that, if allowed to walk, that may be the ones that really fire you up the following year. I always feel like I just planted that seed whenever I watch them walk away.

Good luck on seeing him again... I would have had to put that one down.

one thing people often don't understand.... is that having a camera in hand makes it much easier to pass a deer thats right on the cusp like this.

Having the video, being able to share it, is just as rewarding as holding it in your hands. (Sometimes! ha)
i agree 100%
