8pt bedded video

This past Saturday afternoon I had this 8 pt bedded in front of me for 45 minutes. He was probably 1.5 year old and I had no interest in shooting him but it was really fun to sit there watching him. Nice video and thanks for sharing. I watch deer bed down behind house. I don't think I ever saw one "sleep" with their eyes closed for prolonged periods. They seem to rest with their eyes squinty always ready to react if needed.

Happened to me last year. Bedded down right behind me, but facing me. After an hour of being still I guess I moved enough that he saw me. For the rest of the hunt until dark, he alternated between sleeping and watching me, even if I waved at him.

Then I started climbing down the ladder, and he looked confused but calm.

Then my boots hit the ground and he went " AHHHHHHHHHH human and started blowing and running".

It was one of the funniest things that has happened to me while hunting.

Cool! Did he actually close his eyes and seem to sleep for extended periods?

He never did sleep. Flies were driving him crazy. But luckily he was in front of me where I could see him well and he was facing away.
