do all 870 remington shotguns (that are not tacticool) have the nipples on the inside of the mag tube near the cap that have to be shaved down in order to put a tube extension on the gun?

The Law Enforcement models and maybe some of the older shotguns don't have them (depending on what holds the spring inside). It is a feature that stops the follower from compressing the magazine spring any farther..... that's why you have to drill them out when you put a mag. ext. on the gun.

The 11-87's are the same way.... except for the Law Enforcement models.

If you do this install, remember to use safety glasses and to hold the tube cap tight if you remove it for cleaning or a barrel swap.... nothing to stop the spring from popping out since the tube has been altered. You won't use the black end plug that normally holds the spring in and that also keep the tube cap tight.

Yep, wear the safety glasses. I still havnt found the plug from when it and the spring came shootin out of my 870.

thanks grizz, so once the tube is drilled out then the black cap that is help in by the metal nipps will no longer be needed, is this what your saying?

IF you are adding the mag extension, that is correct. BUT, if you remove the mag ext tube to use on another gun or whatever, you will then put the black plug back in.... but unless you have a way to put another dimple in the mag tube like factory original, the black plug WILL NOT stay in on it's own and will pop out when you loosen and take off the mag end cap.

At one time Remington made an 18.5" imp cylinder barrel and an 18.5" that took chokes. Both are bead sights

Well all I see is an imp cylinder now on the website but it has rifle sights. Might try you Google Fu and see what you can find or call them.

Yep, it is a Remington 18.5" with screw-in chokes.... bought it off GunBroker from a guy, Mr. J.D. McGuire. I can't remember his username off hand but he is a certified Remington Tech.... ownes & operates AIP Tactical.

The tube extension is a Scattergun Technologies tube with QD sling swivel.... they have different lengths and sling mounting options. Kit comes with new follower and spring too.

The stock is a Hogue rubber-overmolded set.... the butt-stock is a tad shorter so as not to snag in your clothing while quickly bringing it to a shooting position.
