We see deer like that where I hunt in KY, all season. Most I have seen in one sit, a morning, was 57 deer and I killed the 57th deer I saw that morning. A mid 130's 9 pointer and he was the 17th different buck I saw that morning. At one point that morning, there were 3 does, all on the same trail crossing a large field, and each one had a buck following. They were about 100 yards apart. I wish I could have got a picture.

This year, on the last day of the late muzzleloader, I about cried. My brother and myself hunted, he still had a buck to kill. At daylight a mid 140's to 150's 10 pointer came out. 180 to 200 yards away, my muzzleloader is as good as any rifle to 300 yards and when I get time to shoot at that distance, will kill to 400. CVA accura LR 45 caliber. Not long after the 10 came out another buck came out, 180, 190 or maybe over 200 inch deer. Not sure. I got to watch him and the 10 for about 25 minutes just feed in a fresh disked field. I killed a buck in gun season there. My brother was about a mile away. He came and watched the field the rest of the day but neither one came back out. Deer was a giant buck. Maybe he will show up next year.

We average seeing something between 20-40 deer each morning and evening, and if you see 50 plus deer in a day of hunting it is not anything to get excited about. Hardest part is deciding which buck to shoot, especially trying to shoot a really good buck. And I never have and do not use cameras, so I am going by what I see while hunting.

Last couple years deer sightings has slowed somewhat, we will have a few sits where we only see about 10 deer, and last year had a 4 day period where I only saw about 10 deer total but killed my biggest ever, but those sits are the exceptions, but there always has been a ton of hunting pressure around us, and the pressure is increasing by huge amounts. Opening 2 days of gun season sounds like a dove shoot with rifles. Never heard that much shooting anywhere else.

In Tennessee this year, other than when I was in KY, I hunted some portion of every single day of the season from October 17 to the end. I went as long as 2 weeks and did not see a deer. It was tough to say the least.

o be a lot more.
