I got permission to hunt a farm in Smith Co earlier in the year thanks to a member on here and hadn't had time to check it out. I checked it out last week and felt like it was our best chance to just see a deer this wknd.

We got set up about 1:30 this eve, and 4 does came feeding around the hill about 3:30. After a few minutes, he made about a 50 yard shot on a big doe, bang flop. Deer scattered, and we decided to sit a few more minutes. We caught one slipping back about 80 yards, and he threaded a nice shot through for #2.

I am so proud of him. This is number 3 and 4 for the year and his fifth overall. He is a heck of a shot and seems to already have that killer instinct when making a shot. He said on his second of the year that the deer were cursed when he was around with his 30-30. I believe it and can't argue with him.

Nice,now go fishing!

Smallmouth are hopefully on the agenda this weekend. :) I am usually ready for deer season to end most years, however, this year I am already having withdrawels even though my son and I had an awesome year and smallmouth have been biting very well so far on the trips that I have been.
