So I am having my 7mm08 rebarreled with a brux 9twist in a 3 contour finished at 22 inches. It is a model 7 and will be trued, bedded and threaded. I'm not building it for long range but want it as an option and as of late have fallen in love with the heavy for caliber bullets. The only eld x available right now is a 162 grain but a 150 is coming out soon. I have read that some people are getting 2700fps and good accuracy with the eld x and rl19. I don't know how realistic this figure really is but would like some opinions. Is the higher bc of the 162 worth the lower velocity and will it pay off for shots out to 500yards or do I need to drop bullet weight to a 140-150 and shoot for higher velocity? I have a good idea of what I need to do and that is play with loads over a chrony but if I can truly get 2700fps with the 162 I think it may be a ticket winner. Fire away!
