7mm WSM and 120 gr NBT load data

Anyone shooting this combo? What powder and charge weight are you running? I have been looking up load data online at Nosler's website, Alliants, and Hodgdon sites and the speeds look very slow (about 250-300 fps slow). I shoot the Barnes 120 grain TTSX and I'm running 3600+ fps.

I'm not shooting the 120 NBT so I cannot comment on that, but I do shoot the 120ttsx in two different 7wsm's. Both of my 24" Lilja's hit pressure around 3,450 fps or so.

According to my records, 120 TSX's gave me around 3500 fps outta my custom 24"bbl. 69g Re19, but accuracy was terrible (2.5 MOA)

I'm not trying to tell you what to do but I would stay with the 120grTTSX...the 120gr NBT will not be your friend at 7mmWSM speeds.

I shot a doe @ 70yds with my .280 and the 120grNBT using RL17 running at 3,280ft/s and after two shots and a tracking job she finally gave up but they had exploded on impact.

If you load them down to around 3,000ft/s your ok and likely to get an exit most of the time on broadside shots.

The 120gr NBT is a tough little bullet but you can push it too hard. My .280 would put three under 1/2" all day.

The 120gr NBT would be a great bullet for coyotes at 3,400+ out of the whizzum...would love to see what that looked like!
