Thought I would pass along some info from my weekend at the range. I have a Remmy 700, 7MM with a Leupold VX-III.
Best tack driving factory rifle I have ever owned. I am a serious hunter, but I am just a hunter. I'm not a range regular,do any hand loads,or shoot custom rigs.
Always been very satisfied with it. I did replace the factory trigger with a Timney, shich has allowed me to be a more accurate shooter.
Set up my Remmy 700 on the bench with my Caldwell Lead Slead, spotting scope etc. Spend some time to get real serious in prepping for the season. Locked down solid.
Since buying this rifle new 3 years ago,I shot Remmy Core-Locked 150's No complaints.
However this weekend after shooting some groups at 150 and 250 yds., I cleaded it and shot some groups using the
Federal Premimum Vital-Shok. 150 gr with the Nosler Ballistic tip.
All my groups improved. Thought I would take the time to write this boring message in case someone was a hunter similar to me,and may want to give these a try. If you had the same improvements I saw,it would be worth the switch. With ammo being so expensive I am not an experimenter, but want to be the best shot I can be when hunting Whitetails and Elk.
Good luck
