Favorite bullet/ammo for deer out of the 7-08

Bad medicine right here!
I'll give it a third. I use Vor-TX in several guns.Second this
Thats my objective every time i squeeze the trigger, is to blow up the heartI don't like the ballistic tip. It works great as for killing a deer, but it jellifies the insides. Makes a complete mess to the point of ruining the heart if you get near it. Disintegrating it if you hit it. I prefer a soft nose lead core. I Remington Corelocks mostly, or Honady Whitetails.
That's the best eating part of the deer. I prefer lung or neck shots.Thats my objective every time i squeeze the trigger, is to blow up the heart![]()
Facts120 nosler ballistic tip is great in the 7/08.
And it's available cheap right nowFacts
Same thing I shoot. Sure does a good job.I use the Hornady whitetail 139. It and the rifle shoot way better than I can.
They seem to be plentiful and reasonable in price.
I don't have a 7mm-08 but Fusions are what I shoot in my .243 and .270 and love them.I killed a bunch of deer with my 7mm-08 shooting Federal Fusions. They don't go far.
If you load or know someone who does, try the Speer Gold Dots. Lots of information out on the interwebs that thinks it's the same bullet.I like Federal Fusion 140 gr. We tried the Hornady 139 gr American Whitetail in 2021 when Fusions were not available — 3 bucks each at about 120 - 140 yards and didn't get pass through on any of them, bullet was embedded just under skin on exit side. They shot well and all 3 bucks were dead in 30 - 40 yards, but no pass through. Similar results with Winchester XP
