I recently got a 7-08 Remington sps. Started out with 120gr NBT and varget. I'm nearly out of varget and I'd like to try some 140gr NBT. Any reason to change powders. I'm nearly out of varget and am satisfied with it and the 120s. But is something better. I don't plan on using anything heavier than 140s.

RL16, RL17 and 4350, as well. Varget, RL15, and 4064 are all very similar in burn rates and are great for the 7-08.

The 15 has been on my radar. Just didn't know if it was worth the switch from varget.

I had good results from IMR 4350 but my dad's shoots Reloader 15 better. Mine shoots it just as well as the 4350 so we both use Reloader 15 now.

Big game with 150 eld x.

Thanks for the replies. I ended up with r15 and haven't had much success with it and the 140NBT. Guess I've shot 5 shot groups from 40 to 44 grains in .2 increments. Had a few groups that looked promising and when I went back to verify it was plain terrible. I've pushed them past 3000 looking for pressure signs, which I didn't find but backed down cause at some point you have to draw the line on pushing it and getting stupid.
