6x223 load ??

JW came home with an AR 6x45 9 twist. Anybody got a good load with an 80-90 gr bullet.

80-87 grain bullets paired with 24.1 grains of H335 have served me well.

It's kind of an in-between load but my rifles seem to like it just fine.

Try Hodgon for data also. DaveB, it is no where near a 6CM. This cartridge is a .223 Remington or 5.56 with the neck expanded to 6mm. The designation is either 6/223 or 6x45. It is a fun cartridge to shoot and hits well above its weight. To me a 90 gr bullet is about tops with it doing well with 55gr to 85 gr bullets. Cheap to get brass and run in an expander and you have a great cartridge. I have it in a bolt action but make sure you use data for AR.

He was wanting to let his girlfriend shoot a deer with it and the only suitable bullet I had on hand was the 95 NBT and looking at the Berger manual H4895 was the best looking powder that I had on hand. So I loaded some of that and at 22 grs it shot 3/4" groups at 100 yards so I figured that was good enough until I can get the 85 Sierra BTHP bullets delivered.

The only other 6mm bullets I have on hand are 70 NBT and 68 gr custom benchrest bullets.

Guys on the 24hourcampfire like the 70nbt for deer and antelope in the 6x45. At those speeds they act like a big game bullet.
