No way if you're 500 or below you should be in the playoffs. Independence at 3-7 is crazy and I have a friend who's son plays there and the only game I saw in person this year was them at Page. Oh well it is what it is but high school football is fun to watch.
Went to Ravenwood game last night . They look good. They beat the cream of the crop in Rutherford county last week. I bet they go deep into the playoffs.
The sun shines on a dogs arse every now and then.
I watched parts of that game. Was a good one.
My Alma mater, Upperman, is ranked #1 in 4A and finished the season 10-0. They've never won a state championship and finished 2nd last year. Hoping to see another deep run into the playoffs.
Maybe when Alcoa moves up (think I heard they are) maybe they'll win one. Their girls basketball won one if not two recently and I talked to some of their baseball players last spring at a tournament they were at and think they were pretty good too.
Alcoa is moving up to 4A next year.

Also a team you may be familiar with, Waverly, has chosen to move up to 3 A next year to ease a lot of traveling. They just completed their year with perfect record, 0 - 10
My brother coached football there for 8 years I think and still teaches and plays AD. At one point when he was coaching they were barely over the enrollment that made them play up and they took some beatings then. Upperman has won 3 girl's basketball state championships if memory serves me right and a baseball state championship in the past few years. We've never won a football championship and not even close til last year.
The girls coach, Dana McWilliams, played at Tennessee Tech when I was there. I think her husband, Bobby, is the boys coach from what I understand. He was at Tech too but didn't really know either of them. A girl I dated at Tech a little bit had a daughter on the last championship team.

I'm a McGavock Raider and I don't think they've been worth a crap in a loooooooooong time. 
Ravenwood played good and it went to OT where they got the W going for 2. They may play again in the playoffs if neither one starts looking ahead.

Yeah, Dana went to Baxter as well. She started coaching when I was in 8th grade. You are right too that her husband Bobby is the boy's coach.
Yeah I think we talked about this before. Sledge was 2 years ahead of me and Crocker was 1 or 2. Played football with Crocker when he transferred from Ezell Harding and played based with Sledge. Sledge's sister was a year behind me.

I remember when Upperman was Baxter and was 1A.
The school has always been Upperman but in Baxter. It gets called both but officially Upperman.
We were 1A when I graduated high school but soon moved to 2A and now 4A.

When I was in high school if you said Upperman no one knew where you were talking about. Even on our basketball schedule the game was listed as Baxter.
