Just out of curiosity, at what age would you estimate he scored the highest? This year, as a 6 1/2+ year-old? I ask because I'm amazed at how often I see a buck peak in score at 4 1/2, and then lose tine length (a major part of the score) with increasing age, but gain mass.

Generally speaking, to me, more mass trumps more score
in what defines a "trophy" buck.
While what BSK says is often true, it may be as often or more often a particular buck gains both tine length and mass in going from 4 1/2 to 5 1/2.
And often, a particular buck's score may change very little in going from 5 1/2 to 6 1/2, but more of that score may come relatively more from mass than tine length than compared to a year earlier.

Cool you have been able to follow the same deer for 4 years. Rare on our small farm we get one that we know for certain we had pics of from the year before.
