I shot my new Bergara Approach in 6.5 PRC for the first time today. Wow, this seems like a great hunting cartridge. Recoil was negligible and its moving a 147 gr bullet with a BC of .697 at a little over 2900 FPS. I shot 4 groups, with the best being just under 1/2" and the largest being just over 8/10's of an inch. It may not replace my 280AI just yet for elk but it will definitely be making it into the deer woods this year.
 
That's great TR. Can you explain the differences between 6.5 CM, 6mm GT, 6.5 PRC. I can't keep up with all the 6mm options out there. I'm not sure what I'd lean toward if I wanted to build a .260 type rifle.

I don't know anything about the 6mm GT but it is a smaller bullet than the 6.5 CM and 6.5PRC. The 6.5 PRC is basically a 6.5CM magnum. Larger case for more powder capacity. 200-300 fps more shooting the same or slightly heavier bullets as the 6.5CM. The high BC bullets in the PRC allow it to carry 1500 lbs of energy out to 600-650 yards in some case. This is almost double the CM and bests my 270 loads by by 100 yards or so.

The 6 GT is between a 6 Dasher and a 6 Creedmoor,,

105 bullets in the 2950 fps range,,,
