I've been using Reloder 22 for the 160g Hornady RN in my Swede. Would like to try it in the Creedmoor for same bullet, or the 156 Norma Oryx. Does anyone have a starting point for this combo? Thanks

Looks to me like both the 156 & 160 are a shade too heavy.

Hodgdon has reload data up to 150 grain, Nosler stops at 142.

I would go to Norma for a recipe or slide down the scale to a somewhat lighter alternative.

I've got some data for the Creedmoor and the 160, but nothing using RL 22. Was hoping someone had tried it. I'll keep looking. May have to contact Alliant. Thanks

That's a heavy one there for sure. If you wanted to go heavy, why not a 147 gr eld x. Hornady 147's shoot great in several 6.5CM's I've shot for other people. My Tikka didn't like them so I settled for 140's, 130's, and 120's.

I like RL-26 with the 127 Barnes LRX and the 147 Hornady eld-x.

Alpha brass and CCI 200's

127 barnes gets 2800 with 45.5 @ 2.860"
147 eld-x gets 2760 with 45.5 @ 2.950"

Compressed loads and no where near pressure limits in my 20" Barrett.

My loads, not yours. Use data at your own risk.

Great loads above, really like RL26 and RL 17 with similar combos.
Can't go wrong with H4350, or RL 16 either.
Problem is there isn't any RL26 in my neck of woods.

Alpha brass has less case capacity, but my loads mirror others with more case capacity and 3 more grains of RL-26.

If you find yourself in Knoxville, I'll give you a pound of 26.

17 is sneaky. I do not like it. I get temp pressures and speeds that are not right.

I'd give you a pound or three of 17 too, but I'm going to use it as fertilizer.

I hear that from others, I just started trying RL17 this year , that's why I'm using H4350. RL16 as my main until I find some RL26.

Didn't even know they made a 160 6.5, that's a tank!
Yeah, Hornady has a 160 round nose (shoots great in my Swede), Norma has a 156 Oryx, and Lapua has a Mega. Not sure of the Mega's weight, but it's right in same area.
