I can't remember the last time we had a 58 day waterfowl season in TN. Anybody recall when? UPDATE yeah its 60 with the 2 after Thanksgiving. But why take the 2 weekend days off at the front of the split? Id rather they take the 2 weekdays off the back end of season.

Man, make me have a heart attack. Its sixty. Two days after Thanksgiving also. Elk always opened in Colorado on a monday when l went

Y'all gonna get me acting up! It's so it can be a 60 day season and be a week later to close, totally bs to me. They refuse to manage and plant correctly for us to have a good duck season. But they Wanta be pissy when you use some "yella helper"

Then why did twra chose to open on s monday, instead of that sat?
due to the Feds only allowing TN. to have one split for the time being is why the season is as it is. Tn. has petitioned the Feds for a 2 split season such as Arkansas. This will allow better use of weekends. No other way around it. The Reelfoot season has been adjusted so this is the first step by making Tn. a single zone state. NOT TWRA's fault due to the dates

Should have just left it the way it was. People belly aching cause they can't hunt till the very last day in January seems like a silly reason to change but whatever I guess lol

I wasn't happy to see these new dates for duck season because I like to hunt with my young kids (12 & 14). It doesn't make sense to me to change it this way. Now my kids can't go on the 2nd opener since it's on a Monday and also can't go on the last 2 days of the season since they'll be in school. Guess they don't care if the young kids can go but definitely didn't take them into consideration when they decided to make this change. It would also be better for the 1st youth hunt at the end of the season to give the ducks 5 days of rest instead of 3 days now. In my opinion, they really screwed it up. Personally, I get more satisfaction watching and hunting with the young kids and seeing their enjoyment.
