Cabelas has the CVA Accura in .45 caliber on sale for a pretty good price. It looks like the availability of 0.45 sabots and bullets is a little limited. Would buying a .45 caliber gun be a bad idea?

I have a 45 encore and it shoots fine, just limited to bullets you can buy compared to a 50. Unless it was a lot cheaper than a 50, I'd probably stick with a 50 just for the reason of so many bullet choices. I don't shoot the power belts anymore, but had good luck with them, shooting Hornady 200 grain bullet now and the 2 deer I've shot already during 1st season couldn't tell the difference. One at 140 yards and the other at 90 yards. There are the 250 grain dead center bullets which I tried one year and worked ok, but you have to order them and read mixed reviews since they are all lead.

I have killed deer out to 194 yards with a 45. I own 2. A maghunter and the accura. Both shoot great with 3 pellets and a 223 gr platinum. Getting 2100 fps and both shoot well off the bench out to 200. Killed a nice buck this past weekend in KY at 140 yards, neck shot, and killed a decent deer on priest back in muzzleloader at 152 yards. For deer hunting I would take a 45 over a 50 all day.
