I've actually been thinking about it.
It can be a very good self-defense calilber.
Very hot load, but low recoil, and most the guns utilizing have very high capacity magazines.

one of my customers came in with one in his truck, has 20 capacity mag. he said smoothest shooting pistol he's ever had. but i don't think its much on knock down.....

When it came on the scene in the 90's, its claim to fame was shooting through soft body armor. But the cost of ammo and the fact there are better self-defense handgun options; it never really took off. Losing its energy very quickly causing shallow penetration makes it not a popular handgun defensive round.

Theres plenty of information available on it. Like any round its application driven. I just never had the application for it.

I seriously considered the KelTec PR5.7 but the only way to unload it turned me away. The little pistol is very lightweight and of a unique/rotating barrel lockup design. It doesn't have a magazine and is loaded from the topside via stripper clips. The only way to unload it is by racking every round out with the slide. Nope.
