I ordered an upper this week should arrive today! Going to try out the Hornady Black ammo first.

I have the scope from my .308 to try on it. (The .308 has night vision for hog huntng). Thinking of adding a red dot for close action.

I hunt hogs in the thick stuff. The 450 should drop them in their tracks. Of course the .308 does as well.

I have a Sightmark Photon XT. Depending on the moon you can easily see a hundred yards with it. With the IR illuminator even further.

They have a learning curve. I had a hard time sighting it in. The directions just weren't clear. Also they have two focus settings. One is for the optics and one for the camera.

Once you get some practice it is hard to tell night from day at shorter ranges. My wife bought it for me as a present. There is a newer better model now.

It is mounted on my BAR .308. It is my favorite hunting rifle. I can only use it on my hog hunting property or put of state.

Cant decide whether to move the NV to the 450. I actually like the .308 with the traditional scope. If I need it for hogs I can mount a light.

Got it all setup. Ordered some rails and sling parts.

Today I got 40 rounds of Hornady Black to try.

I ordered a magazine follower on Ebay. That is just in case I have feeding issues.

Ordered a 5 round Duramag. Can't wait to try it out. Sling here tomorrow. I have the rails and sling connectors but haven't added them yet. Was going to wait until after I fired it.

I am waiting on my Duramag. The upper did not come with a msg and my P Mags won't work. I did sight it in though to a point. Only had a short distance but all holes touching.

I just put together a 450BM and the regular 223 mags didn't work right in mine either. I picked up a couple 5rd Duramags with the 450 follower and it runs fine now. I had it out yesterday and at 80yds it was touching bullet holes. The recoil was much less than I expected for a 260gr. bullet at 2200-2300 fps.

I bought a LH side charging upper from them. I put it together and ran 100rds through it. I went to take the bcg apart to clean and found that it would not come apart without removing the gas key. Pretty frustrating

I don't think the recoil is any worse than a 20 gauge shotgun. Since I hardly ever shoot more than 50 yards I just need short range accuracy. Still waiting on my Duramag though. Then I will do a serious range day.
