450 Bushmaster

Does anyone have any first hand experience with this round? Ruger now has this cartridge in their American Ranch rifle, which can't weigh much more than 5#. I am just curious what the recoil would be like in the light rifle.

The video i saw on the gun with the break on the gun, has the recoil of a 410 shotgun , i like the looks of it...may have to get one ...

I believe the lack of bullet choices is why the soccom was chosen over this round by the military. There aren't many, I like that .458 soccom though, if anyone is giving out money Ill take enough to build one. The thoughts of 45-70 performance from an AR platform get me chuckling.

The 458 SOCOM build isn't more than any quality AR build. The only unique parts are the upper with enlarged ejection port, the bolt, and the barrel. You can get a modified Aero Precision upper from KM Tactical for $100. Tromix has barrel and bolt com os for $299.
