45 acp powder

Which powder is best for .45 acp? I am looking at hs-6

1911 a1 Gi

With 230gr fmj flat nose.

Nothing wrong with HS-6, I also like Unique, auto comp and Green dot for 230 gr fmj's

Thanks a lot I was at Bass Pro then they had one reloading manual open and it listed the HS 6 and some others they had green. But it wasn't listed in the manual I was reading I bought a box of bullets as well 230 green Full Metal Jacket round nose 44 bucks for 200. I hope I didn't spend way too much but I just wanted to get on everything I needed to start.

About 8 grns. of HS-6 will get you around 790 to 800 f.p.s. in a full size gov. Model 1911 and it's pretty decent accuracy. Good shooting.

I load HP-38 or Win 231 with my 1911. I have loaded HS 6 in it before and had decent results. I will dig around and find my load I used for 230 gn and let you know.

I use AA#2 but gonna give W 231 a try this Spring
