I have a Ruger Redhawk 44 mag that I want to deer hunt with. I put a Burris FF3 on it and after I did got to wondering if it will hold zero. Anybody ever done it and / or know if it will? I haven't shot it yet and don't want to waste time if I should've gone with something else.
 
I did exactly that on my Ruger super red hawk 44. The FF3 wouldn't hold zero and I switched to a Burris 2-7. It was a real bummer as I was looking forward to the easier sighting system, but I think it's just too much shock.
 
I run mostly Leupold and Burris on my handguns, but I also have a couple of BSA scopes. They hold zero even on my 41 mag with some serious loads.

When it comes to electronic sights on handcannons, the battery connection seems to always be the weakest link I. My experience. I had a first generation aim point on a 357 mag contender. It was first they issued to military. Should have worked, but after a few shots, 20 or so, the guts fell out. It never lost zero however.
 
I have a Leupold M8 2x on a Dan Wesson .357 and a Leupold VX3 2.5x8x32 on a .41 Mag Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter. I've run some pretty stout loads in both and have not experienced any zeroing issues with either one.
 
I have a burris ffs on my 44mag. So far so good. I haven't yugonit alot though but it tracked good and gave me great groups at 70 yds.

I have used/owned Burris, Weaver, Bushnell, Nikon, Crimson Trace and Thompson Center handgun scopes, mainly variable scopes, over the years and none of them have ever failed me. Mainly used on 41 magnums, a couple of 44's, a 45-70 Contender, 35 Remington, 30-30 Win., 7-30 Waters Contender handguns, 308 Win., 243 Encore and maybe a couple more I've forgotten.
