.410 Turkey

Bought a Stevens 301 .410 because my shoulder has been bothering me for a while. Got to break it in Saturday. 23 lbs, 9 1/2" beard, 1" spurs. Federal TSS 9 shot. Don't think I need a 12 gauge now. LOL

That is great! I have the same gun and have been amazed at how well it shoots. I am carrying it the rest of season. Sweet little gun! Congrats!

That setup is a legit 100% kill every single time at 35 yards.

If you want to go out to 40y, I'd prob opt for some custom ammo in 9.5shot. I've seen insane patterns with Foxtrot ammo in a 410 at 40y.

About what I expected. Insane for a 410, but that pattern is only dense enough for a kill 80% of the time. I want a pattern dense enough I'm confident I'm going to get a kill 100% of the time at a certain range. Add another 75 pellets in that pattern (with 9.5s) and you will be there!

I'm a believer in this setup too. I bought one for my son and daughter. Their Mossberg 510 minis kicks me like a mule even with 2-3/4" shells. I used it Friday AM on a bird that stayed just over crest of hill for 37 mins gobbling. So glad to have super light gun to hold up. Dropped with very little flop at 23 yards. Love this little gun, not sure I'm going back to my 7 other turkey guns. Running Stevens 301T w/jebs choke, vortex red dot and Apex Ninja 9.5. Target shot at 25 yards.

No I bought it from Thunder Ridge Totes. Great tote, you can use it by their feet or around their feet with one and head with other end.
