4 does no fawns ??

I see 4 does every week on my new place. One looks to be last years yearling the other 3 are at least 2.5yr olds.

No fawns. There are 2 more does that I see every evening and they have no fawns.

Wonder why the does in my section don't have any fawns? We have seen exactly 1 buck since June last night and it was a spike.

I wouldn't be too worried until early to mid-September. Any late-born fawns may not be traveling with their mothers yet.
 
When I first moved in (June), one looked pretty fat. Now they all look "normal" sized.

One night I heard a fast moving pack of yotes come through the area. Sounded like something out of a werewolf movie. Wonder if they cleaned out the fawns?

yep of all the pics i have over licks i only have one set of twins with spots.....me thinks they just arent out and about much yet. no reason to believe there arent any that i can tell.

That's what im seeing. I can see the little ones down in the tall grass but when the does are in the plots they stay put. I wouldn't worry they are probably just hiding.

It's not out of the question you have a poor fawn crop this year. But I wouldn't make that absolute determination until at least mid-September.

Now if you do have a poor fawn crop, the critical question is "Why?"
 
On a side note, I'd much rather have predominantly doe pics around my favorite hunting spots. Does tend to be much more territorial than bucks and if the does stick around come fall, you can sure as heck bet they'll be bringing bucks in. On the other hand, if you get mostly buck pics in the summer (from a batchelor group) you may find out that 4 out of 5 have vacated the area come November.

Yep! I hate to get buck pics right now because I pretty much know they wont be back during season.
 
Last night went for a walk with the wife. 3/4 mile down the road saw "Rons'" 3 does in his horse pasture. .2 mile down across the street in someones yard 2 fawns pretty good sized. .3 miles further down, momma doe and her 3 fawns. Been watching those fawns in those locations for months. Kinda neat watching them.
We usually see those same deer in the same locations 5/6 times we go for a walk.

The 4 does that hang out at my place haven't had fawns with them.
Back in early June we had the coyote pack come through 3x in 2 weeks and the neighbors have dogs. I would suspect that yotes or dogs are probably the culprits.
 
It was really bizzare. Like something out of a horror movie. We could hear the yotes fire up a long ways off and sweep through our area. Every dog within a mile was going crazy and I thought the yotes were going to break into the house. It was a large pack with multiple yotes sounding off, it sounded like they surrounded the house

The sound rolled like a wave as they continued down the road. Since mid June, it has been mostly quiet. Maybe the neighbors had them trapped?
