Has anyone looked at these before? They can sling a 300 gr bullet down range at 2950 fps which is 300 fps faster than a 375 H&H. The reason I bring this up is that I came across one in a stainless rem 700 on gunbroker and I think it sold for around $575.

I have actually been thinking about getting a heavy magnum caliber like the 375 H&H and came across the 375 RUM. The issue with the 375 H&H is that its hard to find one for under $1000. I thought about buying the 375 RUM because it was so cheap, then I saw the price of ammunition. The cheapest I could find was $86 for a box of 20 on line before shipping. I reload but the brass alone is over $1 each.

There are only a couple of hunts I want to do that would require a 375 H&H so spending $1500 plus for rifle and optics does not seem logical. Another option is the 375 Ruger which is almost ballistically identical to the 375 H&H and howa makes one for around $500. I think the reason the 375 Ruger is so much cheaper and howa is willing to make one when they don't make the 375 H&H is because it uses a standard long action. The cost of the ammunition for the 375 Ruger is about the same if not a little cheaper than the 375 H&H.
