Hi,

I just built a 358 upper for my AR-10. Thinking this should be a great woods rifle for whatever I want to hunt on this end of the country anyway. Anybody else shooting it? I would appreciate any load info you have used and especially could use some 358 brass. Can buy or swap you something for it.

Thanks,

Bill R.

I have killed several TN whitetails with a .358 Win out of a bolt action M78 Remington. It is the hammer of Thor and punches a big hole in and out with a firehose blood trail IF they go anywhere at all. My favorite load was/is 50.0g/Win 748/ 220g Speer FP bullet. This load worked fine in my rifle but check references and work up in yours. That ought to be one awesome AR!

I had a Remington Model 7 rebarreled to .358Win. I've been shooting the Hornady .358 FTX 200gr bullet over a very healthy charge of RamShot TAC with a LRM primer. No hair tests yet though.

I actually switched to the 200gr ftx for my 35 whelen this year but ended up getting deployed so i dont get to test it out. The review on midway seeem to all be pretty good.

Not nearly as much as the Model 7 .350 Rem Mag does.
