I just ordered my boy a 350 legend. What are your alls experience with ammo. There are a bunch of different ammo choices and was wondering if you all have had better experiences out of any particular brand or weight or ammo.

Thank you all in advance

180 federal blue box will almost one hole, the hole just get bigger the more you send down range! Thats out of three different 350's we have. Does a great job on deer as well, out to 240ish and in to 10 yards, all pass through none travel over 40 yards exit hole on a doe shot last year about 100 i believe

Mine seem to like the Hornady 170 grain and Winchester 180 grain.

But that's me.

Others may have better choices?

Great round in my humble opinion.
There wasnt 1/8 in difference between the winchesters and the federals out of any of the 3 i have. Both good rounds, i went federal blue box since i found a ton of em for cheap.

This is great news. I was thinking 170 but will definitely check out the 180s as well.

I forgot to mention it in the original post but I got a CVA Scout TD. He is right handed but shoots left handed. I like that the CVA is ambidextrous so I can shoot it as well lol.

The Win Deer Season XP 150 gr shoots great out of my CVA Cascade and AR. My son killed a few deer with em and I've killed a few hogs with em. They'll get the job done but I'm not saying I wouldn't try other bullets.

For factory option, my preference is the Hornady 165 grain FTX. For the reloader, 125 grain Hammers or for economy… 165 FTX's. I've shot hogs with about everything made for the 350. The Maker 125's are great too for bolt guns anyway.

I will reload for it eventually but I am in the process of finishing my basement and all my reloading stuff is packed up in the mean time. There is no way I will get a load worked up this season so I am looking at factory offering. Will also provide some brass for the future.

Late Uncles Ranch Likes the Deer XP 150s n Copper Impact best . The Power Max aint too shabby either. Cant recall the How good the PowerPoints,PowerPoint, Blue Box n Hornady 170 were except usable with no issues. Meaning there was no clear cut winner.
Never tagged anything with it yet. Unfortunately. Maybe I can this year for him.
I would suggest if do go Deer Season XP to avoid shoulder. Otherwise they seem good. Used in 06 hit shoulder no exit no blood trail..but dropped in sight ,about 40 yard.I Follow the groups on Facebook n 95 report same to similar with them in 350.Even if exit little to no blood trail.
Good Luck to you n your Son.

The deer season xp will not be used. I have had horizontal results with them as well.
