I know Mr. Big has had trigger time on the Sako but has anyone had time on any of the lighter rifles like the Remington or the Savage in the H-S precision stock? I'm just wondering how the recoil is I looked at one in Sportsmans Warehouse yesterday I would like to play with but I don't need something to shake my filling loose! :)

I've shot the Savage, it's not terrible depending on how hot it is loaded. Then again, I'm a big guy and never been recoil sensitive. It's not a .460 Weatherby Mag, but it's not a .270 either.

I have shot a 338-06 in a light rifle with 250 gr bullets and 60 grs of powder,,I dont want any part of a 338 LM in an unbraked light rifle,,

but I am sure with a good brake either would be OK,,

I've shot the Remington, but it was an MSR. I don't think that's what you're talking about. :) It's a good round, but like Mr. Big said, you'll want a brake.

Yeah all the ones in my price range come with a factory muzzle brake, I was just wondering about the 338LM in a 10lb rifle. I may just be forced to buy one so I will know! lol
