i just got a tikka a couple of weeks ago
i haven't shot a deer with it yet but i killed a coyote with it at about 200 yards nearly took his head clean off
recoil is mild but ammo is almost impossible to find locally
i think overall i going to be pleased with the gun

Should be a mild kicking, efficient, big bullet, killer round. I know my 338-06 is.
My buddy has 2. One is the stainless/laminate Sako. It gave him a fit for a while but he finally found a load it liked and it shoots great now. I think he is shooting a 215 grain bullet
I was in the market for another rifle & thought this would fit the bill for many game animals. did a search for ammo this afternoon & midway had boxes of the 185g for $49.99
