Nice caliber, nice looking rifle and and excellent shooter too. That is a perfect elk rifle but will be fun to use on TN whitetails. I don't care for the 'thumper' emblem but that is me. Plateau Hunter

Great guns!!!
My 338.06 is in a Weatherby ultra lightweight.
I load the 210gr Scirocco II's.
I have had the gun since weatherby first released them, took 6 months to get a hold of one.
Took it Caribou hunting last month, worked like a charm.
Have you killed anything other than paper with it yet?

Popped 2 does a couple years ago --1 at 260 yards --both were bang flops
Didnt use her last year at all but she will be with me totally this year

Yea pretty much the perfect bang flop deer cartridge. Not having to push too much powder, and no need for expensive bullets at 2700 fps.

My XLR 444 Marlin is my other All Weather/Close Range Bang Flopper.
I strive to meet that expectation along with not too much meat damage for the perfect combination.

My 270 WSM I my long range killer.
I really like all 3 calibers for killing power.
