336 35 Rem

I picked up a marlin 336 in 35 remington this week. The rifle is probably is 85% condition and is a JM stamped barrel. I have always wanted one in 35. Where do u guys find brass or ammo? I can't find anything except lever revolution

IMO, you don't need nothing but leverevolution! That stuff is awesome in my pre safety marlin 35. Well worth the price, except gunbroker pricing of course. People trying to take advantage of the seasonal run is all that is.

I agree, I'm on my second 336 in 35Rem. They both shot the Hornadys well and have no problem knocking deer straight down.

Just buy it when you can and don't put off buying when getting low. I about ran out of Hornady LR last year and had to re-zero with some Rem CL's that a fellow TNDEER member was so gracious to send me. They worked great, but the Hornady's group better. My Marlin .35 Rem only went bang in the woods three times last year and all three does went to the freezer without any need for tracking. Great woods deer cartridge, great gun.

I'm truly surprised how many people still shoot the 35 Remington. i thought it had pretty much faded away years ago when flat shooting bolt action rifles started gaining so much ground in popularity. I bought a Marlin 336 in 35 last Summer and while I didn't get to shoot a deer with it last Fall, I'm looking forward to the day I can. Using a lever action adds some of the magic back into deer hunting for me. It also has made me deer "Hunt" more than "Shoot" as it gets me into the thickets where deer actually live rather than just watching a big field with a long range bolt rifle.

That was my thinking as well, and I'm a better shot with my Marlin, especially after switching out my 3-9x40mm Nikon for a 2-7x33 Redfield, mounted really close to the bore.

I just got 57 once-fired R-P cases today on GunBroker.com for $67 delivered. It seems like about $1 each is the going price for once fired or repeated firing brass, while new cases go more in the $1.35 or a bit more each. There are always a few batches for sale on there.

I refuse to pay Gunbroker prices. Most of the sellers on there are delusional regarding their prices. I have been watching Facebook and some other sites and slowly picking up brass. I have about 150 pieces of once fired brass now...... Most recently I bought 52 pieces of brass for $10 shipped.

Just get you a 35 whelen and you will be able to get all the components you desire. You can even shoot the same bullets and the same velocity if you would like.
