308 Marlin Express

Anyone tried out/know anything about the 308 Marlin Express? Looks like it's a 308 round in Marlin Lever action rifle. Any pros/cons?

cons- ammo will be hard to find, especially after a couple of years especially if the gun does not take off.

pros- 308 performance out of a marlin lever gun

It's been tried before with the similar 307 which didn't last. It's a good idea but probably won't take off with all the other calibers available now. If you go that route get plenty of brass and dies to start out with.

Getting 308 results in a lever action sounds interesting, but...I think I might stick with the classic rounds/rifles that have been tried and true.
