What would yal recommend for a good deer round, and a "long" range round? Probably would use the long range for both to tell you the truth. I just picked up 100 pieces of brass.
Still need some glass to top it off with, so I'm in no hurry. It has a 1/10 twist.

for the long range load,,try the 155 Scenar and IMR8208XBR if it wont shoot in the 10 twist try the 185 Berger Juggernaunt with RL15 or A2520
I havent tried the new Tipped SMKs but they look promising,,

for deer hunting shoot any regular bullet that will hold MOA from 150-180 grs

For deer, the 165 gr. Nosler BT with 45 gr. of Varget is a sub MOA in my 1:10 twist Savage and pretty decent lr round out 600 yards. The 175 and 190 SMK's are great lr round's. My rifle really likes Varget and BLC-2 the best.

165 gr. bullet of your choice over R15 or Varget (if you can find it).

Imr4064 works well with anything in the 165-180 range as well.
