Anyone hunt alot with .308? What factory ammo would you pick? Thinking 130gr ttsx or 165gr accubonds should do for anything I encounter out to 400yds

I shoot winchester max bonded they are in the red and black box. Awesome round

I use Barnes Vortx 150 gr TTSX

How do you like them? Had any kills yet?
They've done fine. Last year I killed does at 100, 220, and 250 with it, and I let a friend borrow it who killed 3 does inside 100 yards one morning. I did shoot a buck with it at 380 that I didn't find. I don't know what the deal was with that (I've shot out to 600 several times), but I'll still use them.

Federal Gold Medal Match,168gr Sierra Match King loads. Shoots one hole at 100yds, but won't use past 200yds.

No need to go premium at 308 velocities. I would run a standard 165 gr cup n core that shoots good out of your rifle, and roll with it.

They are awesome. I wish they would sell them to reloaders.

For now I'll use 165 AB at 2800fos

Took the words right out of my mouth. Premium bullets don't kill better just because they are premium. They are designed to hold together at higher velocities and when you are using them in a cartridge incapable of reaching those velocities you are wasting money and possibly risking poor expansion with a long shot.
