as yall know i got drawn for wyoming. do ya think 180 power core lock is to much for 3 or 400 yard shot? i mean to slow of a load? any suggestions welcome

you can take my savage 243 & shoot them with the win 55g they shoot 3910fps ,there advertised as varmit but i dont think the goats weigh close to 100lbs do they? mike243

130 Grain Tipped TSX is what the doctor ordered if you reload.

Factory ammo Hornady Light Magnum 165 grain SST. Very close to Win Mag and WSM ballistics.

When I lived out west I owned a .308 used 165 gr store bought Federal Prems. for everything. Never had a need for anything else,couldn't afford anything else anyway. :grin: The 180's are a bit big for them speedgoats but if your comfortable with it go for it. And have a great time.

check out these ballistics from Remingtons website. At long ranges, as with all heavier bullets, the 180 retains its energy better at long ranges and drops LESS than the 150.

I would take my most accurate gun at 400yds, ballistics won't matter if the gun is not spot on.

180 over 150 every day of the week. You could compromise with 165.
