Lost the broadhead on this one, exit wound was below the right shoulder which prevented a complete pass through, the whole insert/broadhead broke off and probably fell in the leaves somewhere. the head killed 3 deer though so I got use out of it. NAP Thunderheads are good heads, don't see a need for an expandable in the foreseeable future.

There was still frost on the ground when she died... didn't sit in the stand all too long at all.

She was 5 yards from the base of my tree with 2 fawns in tow. She stopped to check out my bike and sniff around. This hunting spot is not too far from home so I went back to the truck and drove home, got my little brother so he could see what it's like gutting and hauling a deer out of the woods.

The shot was perfect, it went through one lung, and completely through the middle of the heart. Not much blood on the ground but she only died 60 yards away. while gutting her I heard a "mahh" and one of the fawns came back to look, and stared at me for a second and ran off.

When my brother and I got back into the woods to go gut the deer, we got to my treestand and got blown at by deer. I climbed up and saw another doe with 2 fawns. If they were different fawns, then in total today I saw 8 different deer, all does or fawns.

But there is also fresh buck sign near my stand that wasn't there before. 2 new scrapes and a little rub in front of one. I also made a mock scraped and peed in it for the heck of it.

I got video, but of course the deer was completely off the screen when I shot the arrow. I will edit it together and put on youtube sometime soon.

For those who saw the pics of my sketchy wooden tree stand - the stand is still solid, and today I hooked up a safety harness and wore it. I left it on the tree so it will be easy to strap in every time I hunt. and when this deer season ends, I will retire the stand and just leave it for the memories.

Congrats catman ! Stacking em up this year
yeah the freezer is really taking the stacking, can't take much more stacking. Already got friends on facebook who said they will take some meat off my hands.
