3 types of squirrels

after many years of squirrel hunting obsessively i have learned that all squirrels can be classified as a barker, cutter, or a traveler based on what they are doing when you set uo on them. so what is your favorite type of squirrel to set up on. i personally like travelers. Seems like they are quicker to get a shot on. what say you?

I like the noisy cutters the best I reckon. The barkers are aggravating unless you get them early in the barking phase, they become progressively more difficult to spot and take up valuable morning time. The travelers are hit and miss so to speak.

cutters when they are on the hickories, acorn cutting is alot harder to hear. Travelers are good unless you are behind them. Barkers usually die quickly.

I like em all, cuz evetually they will be in the cross hairs of my 17 or 22

BUT

if you want to know which one I like to hunt is those stupid fox squirrels on the end of a pecan limb barking up a storm and watching you while you glare at him for a second through the crosshairs before you pull the trigger

Say you hear a squirrel cutting hickory nuts about 60 yards away, and you start sneaking up on him.

You're now about 15 yards from the base of a big hickory and see nut shavings falling between you and the tree, as you search the high branches for the "cutter". Then you see shavings falling from the other side of the tree, and realize there are at least two squirrels "cutting" in this hickory.

Before you can see either of these squirrels actually "cutting", one of them is observed sneaking down a limb, probably just "relocating" a bit to find some more nuts within this tree.

Is that "relocator" a "cutter" or a "traveler"?

Maybe instead of "3 types of squirrels",
we should say there are "4 types"?
#4 = The "Relocator".

A Relocator is a Cutter moving around in his tree,
or a fresh arrival to the tree, looking for his own limb before he becomes a "Cutter".
