I think this deer is 3.5, but if someone smarter than me said 4.5 I could see it. Agree or disagree with 3.5?

In TN a 3.5 is about as old of a deer as the average hunter will ever see in person.

I tend to agree with that southernhunter, and not just in TN, but in most areas.

My daughter killed her first mature buck this year (4 1/2). I told her she just did something the vast majority of deer hunters will never do in their entire hunting careers.

Age structure has improved drastically in the past few years in my area. I understand I am in a very good area with neighbors that have the same age structure goals that I do, seeing fully mature bucks have become reasonably common for me.
