I only have one pic of this deer. The day I got this pic i was about 20 minutes late getting to my stand and he was 30 yds from my stand. Unfortunately, I did not get a shot at him. Based on this pic, what are your opinions on his age? Thanks!

Looks 2.5-3.5 in that pic. Not a very muscular neck, but I would need to see the chest to say for sure

Definitely not 4.5, probably 3.5 but could be 2.5 very easily

Needs 2 years to be enough to shoot. Great start but he needs time. Of course if you give him

Looks like he will get the chance to grow as long as he doesn't get shot by someone on an adjoining property, because this is the only pic I have of him. I have seen plenty of bucks in this area, just not him. I do have to admit, if I would have seen him before I got this pic, I probably would have been very tempted to shoot him. But I do agree, great potential and if he can make it another year or two he will be an even greater deer. I do agree that with every year a buck lives he get harder to kill. But when you do get that chance to kill a mature deer, all that hard work, scouting and patience makes it worthwhile.
