Fished a very small shallow creek today. Took the 2wt and threw some small streamers. Didn't catch anything big, but caught quite a few. Nice day to be on the water.

Ah yeah, you sent me a picture of that. It's wet and laid over in the pic you posted so looks different. Great looking bug! When I first saw it on this thread (look at it) it looks similar to a periwinkle. I wonder if a pattern like that would work? I bet it would for panfish!

I'm pretty sure it would be productive. You might have just given me a new pattern to try and tie. I'll have to research it a little and see what I may be able to come up with.
 
Very nice. I've been on a fishing bender the last week since the semester ended. I haven't had time to post anything, but it's been stellar.
 
I am pretty sure I am too heavy handed at this age to learn to use anything less than a 4wt and might be lucky with that, 6 comes to mind for some reason

My 2wt is a very soft slow action. I had to learn to wait for the rod to load. It's a small learning curve. Give it a try. They are great for small dry fly and nymph presentations on small streams. You can cast small streamers with short, 3' to 5' leaders too.
