what is everyones favorite bullet in 270 and why?

My rifle really likes the 140gr SGK BTSP and IMR350. Incredible accuracy (best group measured under .5") and great on-game performance. I also use 140gr Accubonds, which give good accuracy and great weight retention, but they are quite a bit "spendier."

130 gr Hornady Interbond. Nosler Accubond or Swift Scirocco are good as well. Always can't go wrong with a Nosler Partition. For cheaper bullets, Sierra Gameking or Hornady Interlocks.

Winchester quit making them. Barnes bullets pretty much do the same thing.

In my 270 WSM, I shoot Sierra 130gr and Barnes TTSX 130gr. Have honestly used the Sierra's more since they are a bit cheaper. I don't think you have to worry TOO much about pushing a really fancy bullet at a deer. The Sierra's will kill em DTR every time if your gun likes them and you have proper shot placement.

I also use a 6.8SPC II which uses a lighter 270 bullet. (think 120gr and smaller). Since the velocities are considerably lower I use 120gr Hornady SST's and Barnes 95gr TTSX. It seems that rifle does depend more on bullet selection when hunting.. however, it will bust deer and hogs too! The 120gr SST should work for a .270 too.. and you can get 100 of the projectiles for around $30.

they are good cheap bullets. just dont shoot one cross a chronograph, it will break your heart. a full 200 fps slower than max handloads of h4831

130 win. ballistic supremes in the standard cal. 150 grn in same mftr in the WSM. Love this set up! used it on my last years best ever buck....but I have hunted with the 270 since around 1975.
