Does anyone have any good loading data for the .260, I'm thinking about getting one for my son, and I don't see many offerings locally for factory rounds?
Thanks,
Don

As for finding brass, isn't it based on the .308? Guess you could fire form them.
Any thoughts?

I haven't loaded for this caliber but I have sized 308 length and 30-06 length brass for other calibers. The main thing to watch out for is not to wind up with necks that are oversized. You'll get brass that's a little thicker in the neck when you size down but it's minimal. Especially watch out if using military brass. If you should have a minimal chambered neck already though you could get into trouble quickly. I size down all my brass for my 25-06 from 30-06 and it gives me a slightly better chamber neck to loaded cartridge fit.ratsnakeboogy said:jakeway said:I'll defer to W C, since I haven't actually done it. That's what I was thinking as well, you would have to run it through a reducing die then fireform it, but maybe this overworks the brass? Not sure, as my reloading prowess is not near as great as many on here.
Thoughts?
Agreed! I didn't have a manual handy that listed the 260 (Even my books are getting old!) and haven't specifically done the 260 Remington. Like you say, you can't use a 280 case for conversions easily because the shoulder is a little farther forward than others. The 270 Winchester requires quite a bit of brass to be trimmed off to make 25-06 cases because it has a longer neck length. I regularly size up 308 Winchester and 30-06 Springfield to 358 Winchester and 35 Whelen respectively because they all share the same body length. Another good point!Tiny said:Just a thought on Resizeing them down.
I don't have a manual handy but does all of these share the same Case Body/ Shoulder Pos. Lenght??
If one of them dosen't that one wouldn't work in the others. Thinkging 280 Rem in the 06 class and 7 WSM. Even if you neck them down or up they still won't chamber. Ex 7mm WSM to 270 or 300 WSM
