250g shockwaves win....

been working on a load for my omega for a while..tryed powerbelts..SST's..FPB's..barnes MZ..RED HOTs..and shockwaves..tryed all bullets with loose 777 from 80-125g's..and 777 pellets 100g charge..also tryed 777primers and kleanbore primers..after 2 weeks and a few $100 i have settled on a great shooting combo..the 250 shockwaves..2 777 pellets..and 777 primer..1"@ 100yds..start with clean bore..shoot..spit patch..2 dry patches..shoot..spit patch..ect...pic shows 100yd group..with first shot from clean barrel in group(hole on right)..set 2" high at 100 should be -0- at 150..and 1"high at 50..best group i have ever had from a MZ..i am amazed..

Have heard the Savage ML is much more accurate than any other ML.
Would like to know for sure.

I just bought my Omega,and have only shot it twice at the range.
It's already amazing me how good the groups are.

If I can find a place that sells shockwave 250's before Saturday, I should have it finished and ready for nov 1st.

no its not the SS barrel..
and really i dont see how ANY MZ can be much more accurate than that..not for the money they cost..and the 2 weeks per year we get to use them..im well satisfied with the omega..

man i am tickled to death..cant wait till the 1st..i wanted to use the heavy bullets..but they just werent as consistant as the 250's..95g's of loose 777 shot the same groups as 2 777 pellets..but 100g of loose opened it up to 2" groups..go figure :confused:

Well those are some good groupings for sure and rivals the Savages ability. The one big difference is there is no spittin or patchin or cleaning with the Savage. You just load it and shoot and shoot and shoot and shoot and shoot and shoot and put it up until you want to shoot it again. I have not cleaned either of mine in 2 years. :grin:

thats a accurate bullet out of those guns,my brotherinlaw got some at basspro & he was getting 1/2" groups at 50 something yards,thought about trying them in my optima but the 295g powerbelts were 1 holing at the same distance.im going to finsh this year with PB & maybe try those 250 bonded next year to get a little flatter distance,mike243

Bought 2 packs of the TC Shockwaves 250 gr., with yellow plastic sleeve, blue bonded tip At Wal-Mart.
Plan on shooting it Saturday with 3 777 pellets,get the gun shooting good groups with the crosshairs at 100 yds.
The put the 200 yd circle on the target at the range, to see if the TC Omega/ Nikon Omega system works as advertised.
I'll put up with the Nikon glass this season, it the BDC drop comp works at the set ranges of the scope.

Will post some pics for others here shooting a TC Omega to compare notes. My goal is 1.5" groups at 100 yds, then move out to 250 yds,and see if I can keep it to 3.5" groups.

This will be shooting off of my Caldwell Lead Sled, on a concrete table at the range.

I saw novices on youtube shootng some amazing groups with this same set-up at 200 and 250 yds.
If it does that, it will humble my 7mm mag.

The yellow sleeves did not shoot well in my omega. I had a few of the black and they grouped much better.

I don't want to steal this thread, but I would like to know what type of performance this bullet is producing (harvesting wise)I can see it shots well and has great groupings, but what is its effect once it arrives at the target???

Anyone knocked one down with this bullet yet & how would you rate it?

My Omega shoots great,but it presents a problem to solve.I bought it used and included some sabots in a plastic bag. I shoot great groups with them.
Problem is the guy that sold me the gun does not know what brand they are,and there are no markings on them to ID them with.

So now I am searching for another bullet that will shoot as well as these do. I only have about 6 left in the bag.

Next, I killed a deer last year with my friends Remmy ML.
I asked him yeaterday what he shoots in it,and he says shockwaves. I remembered it had a black plastic sleeve,and made a huge hole.

I bought the TC shockwaves with the yellow sleeve and blue tip this morning. Hopefully they shoot as well as the bullet I am now shooting good groups with that cant be ID'd.

Should be end of story.

Don't like to solve these problems when I only have Saturday to get it right before opening day.

Appears the non ID bullet I have been shooting is a 350 gr.

The yellow sleeve is the easy glide vs the black sleeve The bullets are the same. I cannot tell that the difference is that much for as loading, but
I think the black sleeve performed better as far as accurancy.

The former owner already had the scope set so the crosshairs hit 2" high at 100 yds. shooting the 350 gr.


I am setting the crosshairs on at 100,so the BDC retical performs as advertised.

Agree now that I am dropping down to a 250, this scope has to move down a lot on Saturday.

The black sleeves are easier to load in my omega. The yellow sleeves were hard to load and they did not group well.
