anybody tried both the 117g sst and the 115g vld in 25-06 the sst has a bc of .39 and the vld has a bc of .46 I just wonder how much actual difference there is in them out to say 500 yards I use to have a savage 25-06 with the pencil barrel and it loved the sst's 3/4 inch at 200 yards 3 shot group but this will be for a Remington sendero any help thanks
 
If you are talking about factory loads, the best load for me is the Winchester Ballistic Silvertip 115 grain. Its the most accurate load in my Encore bull barrel and I've tried them all.
 
no ill be reloading and its the first time reloading for the sendero and Im not sure how the performance would be as far as accuracy and kill factor
 
I think it is reasonable to expect a Sendero to be accurate. The 25/06 caliber has a strong accuracy reputation.

Powder, weight, you close to lands, etc, those kinds of questions need answers to help out.

I'm looking at the ballistics software I have with those 2 BC's in a .257 bullet launched at 3,000 fps and zeroed for 300 yards and it don't make much difference honestly. The mid range rise is 1/2 inch different and the drop at 350 yards is 1/2 inch different. Much to the frustration of us rifle nuts, it takes a lot of extra powder, bullet improvement and recoil to make a significant difference in trajectory. :)

I have a couple of boxes of those VLDs myself (I'm assuming you are talking about the Bergers) that I intend to try someday. Only out in the middle of a big BIG field though as I don't trust them for up close penetration.
 
ive not tried either one in the sender yet I was just trying to get some info on folks that had used them and I believe ill just stick to the sst's in case a close shot comes up thanks for all that have helped
