223 effective range ??

charts and ft/lbs be dang,,broadside relaxed deer,,how far would a 223 with a 65 gr bullet at 3000 fps muzzle vel do enough damage to kill a deer,,I mean with perfect shot placement,,in the 10 or 12 ring on a 3D target type shot ?

does anybody have access to what minimum speeds Sierra says it will expand,,as that is where I would draw the line,

it is still at 1900 fps at 400 yards,I would feel confidant with that shot,1665 at 500 I am not sure about,,but if the bullet will expand at 1665 I would take the shot,,anybody know where I can find this info?? thanx eric

dont have a chart but at 1900 it would still smack the s#&^ out of it, in my opinion

I think the sierra is the only factory bullet for my 243
That carries 1000 lbs to over 400 yards,great bullet
For the smaller rifles,expanding & penatration @
Long range I don't have a clue but some tests with
Milk jugs with sand in them at different distances
Will give u a lot better idea than any body might
