I am about to be the owner of a 223 Ackley with a 12 twist Brux barrel. Has anyone owned one of these? How did you like it? I have been accumulating Sierra 55 grain Blitzkings. Figured it was time to get the parts put together. You can still shoot 223 ammo in the Ackley chamber. Win, win for future owner if not a handloader.

Interesting that it's only a 12 twist. 55s should spin fine in it, but not much heavier. Velocity gain claims with that particular cartridge are kinda all over the place, but the case life and lack of case growth is a big gain for hand loading

I have one now with a bartlein 7twist on a defiance tenacity . I'm still fire forming brass so no real load development but it is stupid accurate even with forming loads. I plan to use the 75amax but have 53vmax set aside also. This is the first bolt gun my son ever got behind and he was able to keep .5 inch groups at 100 right off the bat.
