Dad called around dinner and told me my stepmom had seen a white coyote running around in the fields this morning. Wish she would have called and told me. Well headed over this evening to see if i could catch it hanging around. Set up and let the caller do its work. I saw the birds fly out of the fence row i was sitting on and was waiting to spot a yote trotting in any second. Kept looking around and couldnt figure out why the birds flew off since i hadnt seen anything and then i spotted it sitting in the field watching the decoy. Dont know how it got in on me without me spotting it. Already had the gun up on the sticks so all that was left was to let one fly. Yote down!

Where did you hit the dog at with the 204, did it drop dead or run or anything, been waiting to kill one with the 204 but can't seem to, worried what it will do or if it will do the job!

I missed on the first shot(excited i guess) and busted it on the run at 70 yds. Hit it in the guts and it fell dead on the spot. Ive only shot 2 with the 204 with 32 gr V-max but both have fell dead on the spot without even a twitch.

One of my buddies let his daughter shoot her first deer with his last year. She was shooting the 40 gr V-max. She hit it in the rear ham. He said it blowed the ham all to pieces and she had to put another one in it. Im sure it will kill a deer easy if the shot is good but myself i like something with alot more punch.
 
Smoke--way to go!! Yeah there is something about those coyotes that get the old ticker and adrenalin going. I have missed some easy shots in normal circumstances--have to keep 'coyote fever' under control. PH
