dec 11 2012 it was a very good morning right after a cold front blew in and coldest day of the year up to that point .me and a buddy killed these 2 bucks about ten minutes apart.his smaller body eleven point was cruising and my 8pt was chasing. only killed about 300 yards apart
Utfan. In your first pic there is a green brain shaped fruit in the lower left of the pic? What is it. I have found deer eating these in fields on Fort Campbell and was always curious about them. Was your deer eating these too?
they love them .he was not eating them at the time ,chasing a doe across the overgrown field.....its commonly called hedge apple/ from the osage orange tree. yes our deer eat them all the time.
also the smaller buck with the bigger rack was my buddies deer he killed it ten minutes after i killed the 8pt.
if you see the long black bean pods deer love them also. great late season food source. locust pod.
Been reading posts on this site for years. Just signed up. Wanted to see if I can post a picture. Big doe, late season. 50 cal. muzzleloader was pretty hard on her.
