I went to a draw that in years past had great opportunity when there was acorns and made the decision after all day long and morning pondering about "where" to hunt as i drove to our lease which is about an hour away. I hunted there based on the wind direction coming from the s-se. after getting up in the tree i discovered the wind was gently moving from me to the direction of the deers movement so i used the only cover scent i had on me which was raccoon scent and went up the tree almost 32 feet to get as far above them as possible and still see the old log road. This dude came in about 630 am checking out his rub line and scrapes. I shot him at almost 100 yards with 130 grns of 777 and a hornady fpb, 350 grn bullet. he died within 10 yards of the shot and the results were devastating as if i had used a high power rifle. i have never seen a MZ bullet turn a deers body black like a high power rifle but this one did. Great morning to be in the woods.
