This is my beloved 2002 Tundra SR5 4x4. It has the bullet proof 4.7 V8 in it. 242K miles on it. and realistically, probably has several hundred thousand more in it.

I put new Cooper tires on it in October and they are practically brand new. The interior is shown in the pics...the only bad place I can see in the entire truck is on the driver side seat and it's pictured. No cracks or holes in the dash. No rust on the body. Spray in bed liner. It has been my truck for over 20 years. It runs and drives great. All the electronics work on it. AC blows cold and heat blows hot.

Here is everything about it I have done to it:

New alternator and timing belt back in 2024. Changed all fluids in it, in 2024 as well. Of course I already mentioned the new tires. We did sand it and repaint it last year; the clear coat had came off it as is typical of these trucks of this age. We repainted it and put a fresh coat clear coat on it. Also in 2024 we put new front shocks on it.

It currently does have a check engine light for a bad oxygen sensor. I even have the O2 sensor bought...just haven't put it on. It's the driver side down stream sensor. The windshield wiper fluid pump doesn't work but other than that, everything is electronically and mechanically sound.

Now for the part that is probably going to spook most people away. It IS a rebuilt title. I bought it wrecked and did a lot of the work on it myself and what I couldn't do, my family that owns a body shop, did the rest. There wasn't any frame damage to it when I bought it...it only had to have a new bumper, lights, fender and hood. For whatever reason, the insurance totaled it for that and I bought it from Co-Part and had it fixed. If you're not afraid of a rebuilt title sticker...this is one solid truck. Like I say, I've driven it for over 20 years.

I'm in Athens, TN (south east TN). I'm asking $7,500 for it. There was one of these Gen 1 Tundras at the Cleveland, TN Toyota lot used that just sold for $10k and it looked ROUGH on the body/paint and had 231k miles on it.

My granson had a 03 but it was a kinda odd ball step side. Petty good trucks but he bought an '26 Toyota Camery so he sold it . Thought once about me buying it but I have a '12 Tundra and have been looking for a Taco ...out of sight prices !! GLWS

It's 24 years old. A rebuilt title wouldn't worry me in least. Great looking truck and at great price!

I won't lie...if it sells, I will probably cry as it goes down the road. That truck has been with me from my 20s through my 30s and now early 40s. Its never left me stranded and been with me to 6 states. It's hauled deer and fish galore. And I would wager, several thousand pounds of Civil War bullets. We've survived two tornadoes...the hood still has a few dents from the hail from one of them.

Honestly, I think you're making a BIG mistake selling it. I have a the same year Sequoia with 402k and the a/c still blows cold.

If I thought I could sell my recently purchased Tacoma fast enough, I'd be all over it.

My grandson sold his 03Tundra for 5800 . Told him you gave it away ...I listed it on Facebook for 7500 . It had an engine with only 80,000 on it with new timing belt , water pump and all new belts and gaskets. Tacos are rven higher .

P.s. to fellow 4.7 tundra owners,mine has the check engine light because of the O2 sensor heat circuit. Sensor works it just doesn't heat up quickly on the initial start up. Sounds crazy but have talked to several that it's the same problem for their . Why pay for a new sensor only to have it do the same thing a few months later.
Just wished mine got better gas mileage. Even with O2 sensor working it's 15 mpg whether it's grandpaw mode ( slow poking) or stole it mode ( halling @"$)

Yeah Tundra are not known for gas mileage but heck when I was checking around before I bought mine Tacomas don't get much better . Mine is a 5.7 though.

I wouldn't worry about the gas mileage. With the money you save from not doing repairs for hundreds of thousands of miles, you'll come out way ahead.

Incredible vehicles....this spring, I sold the one I bought for my son when he turned 16. Paid $9k for it from an employee in 2019. 150k miles then, had 170k miles when I sold it. Had to replace radiator, starter, and timing belt/ water pump.

It would have brought 10k easy in its condition, but I sold it cheap for 8k to another employee for her sons 1st vehicle at 16.

2wd unfortunately. I would have kept it for myself if it had been 4wd.

You probably have weak or leaking capacitors on the ECM

Mine is 14.8, regardless of how you drive it. Got 17 mpg coming home from OK once, of course I had a 35 mph tail wind, on the way back to OK, had the same wind, got 14.8. 254k on the odometer, taking it to OK in November, found a new spot to hunt for a few days!
